One mountain, three villages
The Visconde de Mauá region is divided among three villages: Visconde de Mauá, in Resende; Maringá, split down the middle by the Rio Preto — half in Rio de Janeiro state, half in Minas Gerais; and Maromba, the highest, where the river rises.
A single road links the three, and the border between two states is crossed by a charming little bridge.
